Legacy and Outback Models 2000-2008
The Subaru Legacy debuted in Japan in 1989 and was launched in the USA for model year 1990. The Legacy was introduced with a newly developed boxer engine layout, called the EJ series. Originally equiped with a 2.2L 4 cylinder, Legacy models today feature Subaru's 2.5L engine, (with some models being turbocharged) or a 3.0L 6 cylinder in top of the line models.
