The PERRIN Performance 4 Bar MAP sensor allows you to safely run above the factory MAP sensor limit of 24psi. Now you can safely run boost levels above 24PSI and accurately produce Maps based for higher boost levels (Up to 43psi).
Included with every PERRIN Performance MAP sensor, is instructions how to integrate this into your AccessPORT Tuner Software, Cosworth ECU, AEM ECU, ECUFlash as well as many other. This makes installation and integration just a few short minutes.
The PERRIN Performance 4 Bar MAP sensor uses state of the art bipolar op amp circuitry with thin film resistor networks built into each micro chip. Pressure changes are calculated on a true linear 0-5 volt scale via a specially designed silicon pressure sensor that also compensates for temperature changes. The unique ability to compensate for temperature changes allows the PERRIN Performance 4 Bar MAP sensor to remain a minimum of 99% accurate from 32 degrees F to 180 degrees F through out its range of scale. With the true linear pressure vs. voltage scale there is never a need to re-tune at different altitudes as with other sensors.
There are 2 problems when running high boost with the stock MAP sensor, no protection for over boost and the lack of ability to tune for larger turbos. When running boost beyond the 24psi limit your ECU has no way to determine an accurate boost level. It will always read 24psi when it may in fact be 34psi! The only way to protect your engine from an over boost situation, is to run a less than desired boost level. This means the OEM MAP sensor is holding you back and keeping you from getting the most from your PERRIN Turbo kit.
